Frames Direct windows and doors were specified for Griffeen Community College

Frames Direct manufactured and supplied Cabinpac, leading manufacturers of modular buildings & prefabricated buildings for the education and healthcare industry with over 50 units of windows and doors. These were designed to complement the 530 sq metres, 2 storey, hybrid modular build produced for Griffeen Community College, Co.Dublin.

The Project

The design requirements for the addition of this modular building and its components stated that the exterior must complement an existing building that was already in place. The AMS XT66 casement windows and XT66 rebated doors were chosen. These systems offer exceptional performance, which was important on this project and are certified to the highly recognised Secured by Design standards, offering enhanced security features. To complete the overall look, the colour chosen was that of Ral 5011 (steel blue) with painted glass spandrels 5015.

Frames Direct windows and doors are designed to offer minimal maintenance and these systems fitted in Griffeen college are no different. The XT66 casement window has excellent patented thermal technology and can achieve U-values as low as 0.92 W/m2K, they’re an eco-friendly and sustainable choice.  Measuring 66mm in depth, it can be glazed both internally or externally with 28 mm through to 48 mm units with a range of sash styles. For this project the windows were glazed internally with 28mm units?? 

The XT66 Door System is a door guaranteeing, strength, security and performance wherever it is installed. It offers many design options, chosen for this project was a louver door with lever/lever handles and a pull handle door with deadlock.
